This month we will be using COLORED PENCIL to paint/draw subjects from my own inspirations during a recent trip to MAUI.

This month we will draw/paint a tabby cat, an anole lizard, a hibiscus flower, and a sea turtle.

We will learn how to choose colors, recognize value shifts and translate them into color, layering, blending, and adding texture. We will be using a variety of different surfaces which support colored pencil such as drafting film, Pastelmat, hot pressed watercolor paper, and drawing paper.

This is a monthly subscription to my ongoing ONLINE art classes where each month we will choose a focal subject and will combine it with a particular media such as soft pastels, colored pencil, or acrylic paint. We will learn how to use a wide variety of substrates and solvents to help bring our subjects to life! In addition, I email the students a curated list of my personal photos references for the week’s subject/s as well as an itemized list of the materials I plan to use/demo for the lesson. Classes take place via Zoom platform and students are emailed Zoom link before class.
