Flora and Fauna in Colored pencil, Mondays 10a-12:30p September 14-November 2, 2026
Learn how to paint/draw an array of subjects which can be found in both plant and animal worlds specifically those subjects which share similarities with their names such as Magnolia (flower) and Magnolia Warbler (bird)….perhaps we will compose them together!
Each week the students will be provided with color copies of our chosen subject which we will use as our reference for drawing/painting. Students will learn how to transfer images onto their drawing surface using transfer paper. We can then jump right into the “meat” of the course and start learning how to choose colors, layer, blend, add texture, and much more!
Colored pencil is a wonderfully challenging (and at the same time) rewarding medium. It is one of my favorites and has brought me several hours of joy and inspiration. I look forward to teaching you what I have learned through my more than 10 years of exploration with colored pencil.
This is an in-person class being held at the Berkeley Finnish Hall and once enrollment has been confirmed students will receive a welcome email with more details about the class, including supplies, location details, and general information.
