FAMILIAL BIRDS IN COLORED PENCIL, Mondays 10a-12:30p 8/18-9/29/2025 (no class 9/1)
Learn how to paint a selection of birds (which have strong family structures) such as a barn swallow, a mourning dove, a puffin, a white stork, and a red-tailed hawk.
Each week the students will be provided with color copies of the “bird of the week” which we will use as our reference for drawing/painting our birds. Students will learn how to transfer images onto their drawing surface using transfer paper. We can then jump right into the “meat” of the course and start learning how to choose colors, layer, blend, add texture, and much more!
Colored pencil is a wonderfully challenging (and at the same) time rewarding medium. It is one of my favorites and has brought me several hours of joy (and at times, frustration) but don’t worry…I am here to teach you what I have learned through my more than 10 years of exploration with colored pencil.
This is an in-person class and once enrollment has been confirmed students will receive a welcome email with more details about the class, including supplies, location details, and general information.
A one-time $20 materials fee has been included to cover printing and administration costs. :-)
